Arkansas National Forensic League District Tournament 2012!

Arkansas NFL District Schools held our first Arkansas NFL District tournament on March 30-31 at Rogers Heritage High School.  Rosie Valdez, Principal Steen, and Rogers Heritage are commended for their excellent hospitality in providing a safe and functional site for Arkansas’ inaugural NFL District Tournament. Eight of Arkansas’ 17 NFL schools participated.  Julia Woods of Bentonville, Tim Hollis of Fayetteville, Chris Flowers of Little Rock Hall, Kathy Holladay and Rhonda Fowler of Little Rock Central, Debbie Ashcraft and Christy Armbrust of Monticello, Jackie Reiff of Omaha, Rosie Valdez of Rogers Heritage, and Liz Davis of Rogers High School are to be commended for pioneering this giant step for ACTAA and Arkansas Debate/Forensics onto the national stage.  A big Thank You! to Jannetta Carney, Callie Hamm, Melinda Milloway, Kitte Maes, and Jessica Skordal  for their assistance.  As with all tournaments, many parents, former students and community experts devoted their weekend to judging and running our new NFL Tournament.

Please contact me about recording NFL points retroactively for your students for past tournaments.  ... I am a firm believer in this national honorary speech, debate, forensics society.  It provides so many benefits to students, coaches and schools attainable nowhere else.  I only regret that Arkansas has gone for all these years without its own NFL District causing so many of our former students to travel to other states' districts to seek qualification for the National Tournament.  I know that several other coaches expressed interest in membership at and after our ACTAA Fall Conference.  Should any other coaches and schools wish to join us--please contact me.  Don't let your students miss this great opportunity!  Congratulations, Arkansas, on your very own NFL District!
