I know that some schools had to cancel their travel/attendance plans for two tournaments (Monticello and Russellville) that they could have used for qualifying kids for state.  Many others schools' students also lost the opportunity to compete / host.  The "10 school minimum" could not be met.   Do you think the TOC committee should reconsider the 10 school minmum as more schools try to sponsor tournaments?   Back to back tournaments usually harm one or both of the schools' ability to host to 10 schools as many of the attending schools have to make a choice as to which single one they will attend.   The expense of a cancellation is costly for the host school, and the attending schools' headaches of coordinating for a tournament that cancels is so frustrating.  Both experience disappointment and "lost efforts".

    So here are the questions:
What can we do to help our schools that are hosting tournaments?
Is the 10-school minimum something that we should continue or reconsider?  How can we avoid back-to-back tournaments?
